Originally a Frozen Tundra native, I completed my undergrad at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and have a background in print based Graphic Design, Sales, and the Service Industry. I enjoy drawing/painting, fitness, traveling, and mixology, along with creating vibrant interface designs.
UI/UX has always been a facet of design that has captivated me. A blend of visual flair, user psychology, decision making, and research (among many other things), it is a blend of more than just images and colors. To me, it is a perceivable notion that a user has when interacting with an interface that has been guided by research. To be, and become a feeling a user has when interacting with it, UI/UX is more than just design - it has transcended that.
My print based design background is centered in editorial publishing. Some of the big name publisher's I've done work for include Kendall Hunt, Macmillan, and National Geographic (to name a few). Publishing taught me a lot about the world of design, and I carry the lessons I learned as a print designer forward into my recent transition to the world of UI / UX.
Leaving Milwaukee and heading to Ohio was a big leap for me that I wouldn't change for the world. I rolled the dice and picked up two jobs working 80+ hour weeks while balancing my UI/UX school work through Career Foundry during my transition. I proved to myself that I have what it takes and that hard work / an unwavering belief in one's self can truly propel you forward.
There is more to me than meets the eye - I can draw and paint and recently found a new passion in mixology. I also enjoy my family time and traveling with my friends - visiting new states and countries. An avid dog lover as well, our family's golden retriever Josie is my pride and joy. I am also an avid sports fan and love catching a game when I can.
I am currently looking for a job in UI / UX Design, in a larger metropolitan area. If I vibe with your company / culture or if you are interested in seeing some of my work use the links to the left. Feel free to contact me using the form at the bottom.
As we used to say in Milwaukee... Ope', hope to hear from you soon!
